Muhammad is last prophet in the long line of Islamic prophets. Mawlid un-Nabi commemorates the day Prophet Muhammad was born, which is believed to be on the 12th day Rabiul Awal of the Islamic calendar. Every year, Muslims all over the world celebrate this day by donating to charity and distributing food among the needy. At various places in each city, sermons describing the teachings and beliefs of Prophet Muhammad are preached to followers.
