Explore the fascinating history of Lynchburg with a visit to Point of Honor. Point of Honor is a historic home site that was once the abode of Dr. George Cabell, Sr, a prominent American citizen. This 1815 mansion is currently a house museum that features furnishings and other objects from the 19th Century. The stunning house, designed and built in the Federal style, offers amazing views of the James River along with the city itself. After finding a mention of the National Register of Historic Places, it was converted into a city museum in 1978.
