Biohazard is a hardcore punk and heavy metal act from Brooklyn, NY that drew some misguided controversy at the time of its debut in 1987 due to lyrics that reflected fascist and white supremacist views, despite two of the band members being Jewish. The controversy, although short-lived, did much to catapult the band to the forefront of Brooklyn's burgeoning hardcore scene of the late-1980s through the 1990s. The band would have an on-and-off again relationship with major recording labels throughout its career. This, and other minor setbacks, however, did little to keep Biohazard from becoming one of the biggest commercial successes on the hardcore punk scene.
